The COPilot the Future: Youth Summit in the Lead-Up to COP31 event was organized through the collaboration of UN Türkiye, COP31 Presidency Office and Middle East Technical University (METU).
The event was held in a hybrid format at METU Culture and Convention Centre and on Zoom on September 14, 2026. Around 450 people participated in the event physically and digitally. The programme comprised opening speeches, an expert panel on the WEFE nexus, and ultimately an interactive dialogue session where a Youth Communiqué was drafted.
The backbone of the Youth Communiqué was formulated with the responses we received from under-35 participants in the registration form. The draft text was completed with the input during the live brainstorm session.
The Youth Communiqué will be finalized with the feedback we receive from the participants and submitted to the attention of UNFCCC and the COP31 Presidency for consideration ahead of and during COP31.
We request your final contributions through the Feedback Form, which you can access via the link below: https://forms.gle/k8vbNgkm7YZKTKwz9
