METU CLIMATE at UN SDSN Türkiye 10th Anniversary Event!
The Middle East Technical University Climate Change and Sustainable Development Research and Application Center (METU CLIMATE) participated in the UN SDSN (United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network) Türkiye 10th Anniversary Event and Members Meeting.
Held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Boğaziçi University, the event brought together rectors, vice-rectors, and UN SDSN Türkiye focal points from member universities, as well as representatives from public institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations.
With the theme "UN SDSN Türkiye Network Members’ Work in Light of COP29 and Current Developments," the event featured discussions on sustainability and climate action. Representing METU CLIMATE, Dr. Aslı Toksabay shared insights into the center’s activities, focusing on sustainability, climate change, and blue economy initiatives.
Established by the United Nations in 2012, UN SDSN is a global network dedicated to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UN SDSN Türkiye was founded in 2014 under the leadership of Boğaziçi University. Bringing together stakeholders such as universities, think tanks, national laboratories, civil society organizations, public institutions, and governments, the network supports science-based solutions in areas such as climate and energy, sustainable cities, health, economy, education, and food security.
